Su cuarta edici\u00f3n se organizar\u00e1 en Medell\u00edn del 26 de febrero al 1 de marzo del 2015. Es un evento dise\u00f1ado, organizado y mantenido por ciudadanos de varios pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo del Foro es convertirse en la real voz global de los ciudadanos a favor de la movilidad sostenible. Una voz independiente, que debe ser tan poderosa, como para intervenir en las discusiones urbanas globales, e influenciar las decisiones pol\u00edticas locales. A diferencia de otros foros en el mundo, los participantes no tienen que pagar por aplicar o participar.<\/p>\n<p>Who are we?<\/p>\n<p>The Forum is the most important global citizen event in favor of the bicycle. Its fourth edition will take place in Medellin from February 26 to March 1, 2015. The World Bike Forum is an event planned, organized and maintained by citizens from a wide range of countries.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the Forum is to become the global voice for citizens favoring sustainable mobility. An independent voice powerful enough to intervene in public discourses and influence local policy decisions. Different from other forums around the world, participation and attendance is open to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la historia de tu emprendimiento?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La idea del Foro naci\u00f3 por un incidente terrible. El 25 de febrero de 2011, durante un paseo en bicicleta por Porto Alegre, Brasil, un conductor de carro atropell\u00f3 a 20 ciclistas. F\u00e1cilmente, los ciclistas de esta ciudad podr\u00edan haber podido dedicarse a estrategias negativas despu\u00e9s de este intento de asesinato, pero no; ellos decidieron conmemorar, a\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o, esta tragedia de manera positiva. As\u00ed naci\u00f3 el Foro Mundial de la Bicicleta, que busca unir a los miles de ciudadanos del mundo, que trabajan a favor de ciudades m\u00e1s sostenibles, con la bicicleta como s\u00edmbolo.<\/p>\n<p>En su tercera versi\u00f3n, llegaron a Curitiba m\u00e1s de 1.300 participantes, y nuestro reto es organizar un evento que re\u00fana como m\u00ednimo el doble de personas en Medell\u00edn. Traeremos a los ciclos activistas m\u00e1s reconocidos, aseguraremos la participaci\u00f3n de acad\u00e9micos dedicados a investigar sobre la movilidad sostenible y garantizaremos una amplia representaci\u00f3n de artistas urbanos desde los cinco continentes.<\/p>\n<p>What is the project history?<\/p>\n<p>The idea of the Forum appeared from a terrible accident. On February 25 of 2011, a car driver ran over more than 20 urban cyclists participating in a ride in Porto Alegre, Brasil. This incident could have prompted a negative backlash from this city\u2019s urban cycling community, however they decided to commemorate, year by year the tragedy in a positive way.<br \/>\nIt seeks to unite thousands of world citizens that work for more sustainable cities, with the bicycle as a symbol and a tool.<\/p>\n<p>In its third version in Curitiba there were more than 1,300 participants, and our goal is to have an event that will gather at least twice as many participants in Medellin. We will bring the most recognized cyclist activists, we will ensure the participation of academics dedicated to research in sustainable mobility, and guarantee an ample and diverse participation of urban artists from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la causa que mueve tu proyecto? \u00bfCu\u00e1l es el problema que busca resolver?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Las ciudades no pueden seguir su crecimiento actual sin llegar a una ruptura. Pensamos que las ciudades deben ser para todos pero la realidad de hoy es que las autoridades p\u00fablicas privilegian la movilidad motorizada individual y de esta forma excluyen a una mayor parte de la poblaci\u00f3n, que no quiere o no puede acceder a este tipo de movilidad. Queremos una movilidad sostenible por razones de salud p\u00fablica, ambientales y de convivencia. El Foro propone buscar soluciones a este reto. Es una forma de juntar los ciudadanos para que piensen su ciudad sin ninguna presi\u00f3n pol\u00edtica y actuar de forma tangible sobre el territorio como lo hacen los colectivos ciudadanos a diario en Medell\u00edn y en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>What is the purpose? What is the problem we are looking to solve?<\/p>\n<p>Cities cannot continue on their current growth without getting to a rupture point. We think that cities should be for all citizens, but today\u2019s reality is that public authorities favor individual motorized transportation, excluding the majority of the population who cannot have access to this kind of urban mobility. We want sustainable mobility for public and environmental health, and better social interaction conditions. The Forum intends to seek solutions to this challenge. It is a way of encouraging citizens to imagine and think their city, and to act and promote in an independent way what they dream about.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfEn qu\u00e9 consiste tu Proyecto?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Con la ayuda de todos los ciudadanos que se quieren unir a nuestra causa, seremos capaces de armar un espacio de discusi\u00f3n independiente para generar propuestas sobre una ciudad para todos. Con su apoyo, podremos lograr traer expertos internacionales pero tambi\u00e9n actores locales que consagran su tiempo actuando para una mejor ciudad. Gracias a eso tendremos una herramienta de presi\u00f3n para cambiar la direcci\u00f3n que toma el desarrollo en la ciudad. Tambi\u00e9n haremos acciones concretas a lo largo del Foro como la construcci\u00f3n de parqueaderos de bicicletas, de ciclorrutas y favorecer los espacios verdes y peatonales. Se puede lograr s\u00f3lo con un apoyo ciudadano e independiente que hace tan especial este evento. Permitir\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n que el Foro sea gratis y de libre acceso.<\/p>\n<p>What is the project about ?<\/p>\n<p>With the participation of all citizens who want to join our cause, we will be able to build an open space for discussion in order to generate proposals on cities for all. your support will enable us to bring international experts and local actors, who work for better cities. In this way we will have an advocacy tool to change the city development approach. We will also have concrete actions throughout the Forum like building bike parkings and lanes, and promoting green pedestrian spaces. It can only be achieved with an independent and citizen-drive support, which is what makes this event so special.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfQue impacto tendr\u00eda tu proyecto en el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico o social de tu comunidad o regi\u00f3n?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Con este foro tenemos la oportunidad de cambiarle la cara a la ciudad generando espacios para que la bicicleta sea un catalizador de equidad y desarrollo humano. Esta es una oportunidad para unir esfuerzos y construir una mejor ciudad para todos. M\u00e1s que un espacio para conferencias queremos dejar un impacto directo en la ciudad con conocimientos, experiencias e intervenciones urbanas. Vamos a generar nuevos espacios e imaginarios para todos los ciudadanos de Medell\u00edn y del mundo. Vamos a demostrar que otra ciudad es posible cuando participamos y actuamos propositivamente.<\/p>\n<p>Which will be the impact?<\/p>\n<p>With this forum we have the opportunity to change the face of the city by creating spaces for the bicycle to be a catalyst for equity and human development. This is an opportunity to join forces and build a better city for all. More than a conference space we want to make a direct impact on the city with knowledge, experience and urban interventions. We will create new and imaginary spaces for all citizens of Medellin and the world. We will show that another city is possible when we participate and act in a proactive way.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfC\u00f3mo gastar\u00e1s el dinero que necesitas para tu proyecto?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Con el dinero que recaudaremos realizaremos:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 5 murales creativos. Realizaci\u00f3n de cinco murales por artistas de M\u00e9xico, Argentina, Chile, Suiza y Colombia, con experiencia en intervenciones urbanas para sensibilizar sobre movilidad sostenible y una ciudad respetuosa de las necesidades de cada uno.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Construcci\u00f3n de 1 gran cicloparqueadero ciudadano, que ser\u00e1 ejemplo de construcci\u00f3n colaborativa en la promoci\u00f3n de la bici.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 5 talleres con comunidades y escuelas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Intervenciones urbanas a peque\u00f1a escala en barrios para visibilizar y mejorar la movilidad peatonal y ciclista.<\/p>\n<p>How will this be invested?<\/p>\n<p>1. The making of five creative murals by artists from Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Switzerland and Colombia and Swiss artists, with experience in urban interventions for raising awareness on sustainable mobility and inclusive cities of everyone needs.<\/p>\n<p>2. The construction of 1 great bike parking that will be a model of collaborative work in cycling advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>3. The development of 5 workshops with local communities and schools.<\/p>\n<p>4.
